I sure appeciate your candor and look forward to reading your latest book. I think I have been to an event for each of your other books - from Great Good Place for Books to City Arts and lectures with Jennifer Gunter. Have not made it to this tour yet but I will!
I wish I knew. Certainly it makes no financial sense for the publishers to send mid-list writers on tour. But what does? I don’t think zeitgeist can be engendered or bottled, and I’m not sure publicity does much of anything. But maybe I’m wrong?
I appreciate your insights, Ayelet. I think my concern stems from the events I’ve been reading about that are trying so hard to make the evening interactive — think PTA Back-to-School Night vibes.
Ayelet, I just finished A Perfect Hand and really enjoyed it. Kudos on such a clever idea… I was glued to the story! fyi learned about your new book from your interview with Deborah Kopaken.

I’d love to see you! I’m doing an event at Rakestraw in Danville with Andrew Sean Greer and one at Book Passage in Marin!
I'd love to hear what you thought went well and what could be improved upon. I've been hearing in-store events are a fickle beast.

Oh dear. What in heaven’s name would that look like? I love Q&A, I love hearing about what other people are reading, but… interactive how? And why?
